Merry Christmas and more...

Whew, we've had an eventful few weeks.

First, Jesse was promoted to Sergeant at the Police Department the week of December 14th...yay for Jesse! We are excited. As a result of the promotion, he will be going back to Patrol which means he will have to say goodbye to his flexible schedule and weekends off for a while. But that's just part of it, which is nothing we haven't done before.

The following Saturday, December 19th, he was in a car accident. Fortunately, Jesse was by himself and no one was injured. A lady fell asleep at the wheel (at 12:30 in the afternoon) and came into his lane head-on which forced him into the ditch off of the two lane road. The side of his truck collided with a row of trees to avoid a head-on collision, which in turn totaled his truck. We count our blessings every time we think about it. The other driver's insurance has taken full responsibility and as a result, Jesse gets a new truck. Merry Christmas to Jesse!.....kind of.

So now for Christmas.... Chase had a blast. He wasn't really into ripping the paper like I expected him to be, but he had a great time and loved all his new toys. I will be adding more pictures, but here's a start......

The snow was not such a big hit with Chase........

Christmas at Mom and Dad's. Somehow, Jesse didn't make it into any of the pictures, but he was there!

Birthday Fun

Chase was invited to a birthday party for his next door buddy, Rece who is two this week. The party was at a place that has a bounce houses for the kids to play in. One of them was a huge slide. Chase LOVED it. We had to go over and over. Toward the end, I let him go a few times by himself while I nervously waited at the bottom for him. I was able to get a few great pictures though.

Here I come!

Uh oh, didn't quite plan to go this way....

Trick or Treat!

Chase Trick or Treated for the first time this year. He was Woody from Toy Story and his almost 2-year old buddy who lives next door was Buz Light Year. They were a hit!

Here he is getting dressed.

Almost done Mom, just a sec.

Woody and Buz.

Yeah, my first house. I think I'm going to like this.

Happy Halloween everyone!

Halloween Hayride

The weekend before Halloween, we took Chase to a friend's house for a Halloween Hayride. It was a great party for adults and kids complete with a campfire, lots of great food, and a haunted trail for trick or treating. All the adults passed out candy along the trail. Chase was such a big boy and had a great time. Can't wait until next year!

Time for a break...
Mom, I thik we're out of candy.

Yay for Fall!

Fall is my favorite time of year. It's starting to get a little cooler and spending time outside is a little more bearable!

This weekend we took Chase to the pumpkin patch. It was such nice weather and we were in need of a fun outing after all the rain we've had. He was a little scared of the loud tractor pulling the hayride, but enjoyed wandering through the many pumpkins, riding in the wagon, and seeing the horses.

Here is Chase and his Aunt Jess

He discovered that pulling the wagon was a lot more fun than riding in it!

Looking at the horses.

Busy Weekend

We had a busy weekend! On Saturday, Lewisville held their annual Western Day celebration. A parade, petting zoo, bounce houses, choo choo train, and lots more! Jesse had to work at the event, so Chase and I headed out to enjoy the festivities...and see Jesse for a little while. We watched the parade first, then headed over to see the animals and ride the choo choo. By choo-choo, I mean a 4 wheeler pulling a chain of 55 gal drums on their sides with the middle cut out and wheels....very creative. Chase loved it!

Here he is watching the longhorn cattle drive....or Dah-duh's as he calls most animals.

Close-up after the parade...

Not quite sure what to think, except that he wanted OUT of his stroller.

Petting a goat. This was the only animal he was interested in....the rest of our time in the petting zoo he was more interested in running from one side to the other and holding onto the fence. I guess he thought he was in there to stay with the animals.

Ahhh, back in the air conditioning. Here we are at Sonic waiting for our ice cream.

Sunday was an afternoon at my Grandmother and Granddad King's to celebrate fall birthdays. My Grandmother brought out my Dad's old toys for Chase....he pulled this one around for quite a while.

As soon as he discovered these chairs, he immediately started climing in and out of them, then from one to the other, then pushed them around the floor. Of all things...they were great entertainment at GG's!
